Today I drilled the last hundred sample tubes. This only took me 2 and half hrs because of the sun. I placed the bags of tubes out in the sun, so by the time I drilled them the plasric was warm and drilled nicely. Now all I need to do it put it all together!

The last two days have been filled with drilling... and more drilling and some occasional drilling. Yes, I not only had to drill holes in my PVC piping, but also in all 180 sample tubes. Also I needed to drill all the holes in the lid of my plant containers so that all 180 tubes will fit. I'm almost done though! Apparatus will be up and running soon... Then it's time to plant and grow for 2-3 weeks and then experiment!!!!!! Today I went to Cornell to have a meeting with Dr. Turgeon, a professor at Cornell. My meeting was fabulous! I discussed my project with him. as well as the possibility of doing research this summer at Cornell. AT FREAKING CORNELL! (if you don't know Cornell is like my dream). Then he showed me around the labs and greenhouses in the area.
When I get more specifics you guys will definitely know! My supplies won't be in from Lowes until NEXT Thurday... until then I get to experiment with how I'm going to allow water into my tubes without the gel polymer crystals escaping.
